This Martin D-42 Custom is #8 of 19 guitars build with Cambodian Rosewood (Dalbergia Bariensis). This wood is a dense, smooth Rosewood species that has all the praised Rosewood qualities. Martin selected 19 sets with straight grain and a lovely warm and lush brown color. If you ignore the color, these look the most like the grain of the coveted pre-war guitars as anything has.
This Martin D42 Custom is labeled and signed by C.F. Martin IV and is built in the Golden Era tradition including the Mother of Pearl Hexagon fretboard inlay. Delicious! The premium Adirondack Red Spruce top has the tight grain of the pre-war sisters and had developed fantastic. Ultra-loud she can be but also gentle with an abundance of overtones that finger stylers love. This babe will definitely give you goose bumps. She is in EXCELLENT condition and comes with the original Martin branded TKL hardshell case. The case label says Slate Grey but in real life the color is actually Slate Blue.
