The Custom Shop John Mayer 00-42SC Artist model features a unique rosette design. The fretboard normally covers the rosette but in this case it is continued as an inlay in the fretboard. A one-of-a-kind and complicated design which requires high precision craftsmanship. The premium grade Cocobolo gives her warmth and good attack. All Abalone inlay work in the well-known 42-style design. The “SC” stands for stagecoach, hearkening back to an era when guitars were taken on trains, wagons, and horses for bringing people together in song. This Martin 00-42SC John Mayer is the perfect fingerpicking instrument. It features a 47.6 mm (1 7/8″) neck width and the 12-fret neck to body construction. The neck is a true specs 00-45 neck. In fact the whole guitar is of the period! The other idea is to continue the abalone inlay in the fretboard. Brilliantly done by the Martin luthiers.
