This José A. Fuentes #109 is an extraordinary flamenco guitar in the tradition of great Catalunian guitar makers like Santos Hernández, Antonio de Torres and Miguel Rodríguez.

This 2017 José A. Fuentes #109 is an extraordinary flamenco guitar built with a mastergrade German Spruce top and Royal Spanish Cypress for back and sides. The top has a beautifully accentuated and straight grain. A guitar with a very personal timbre and with astounding strength and quality. Bass notes offer a great foundation. Mid and high notes a clear and warm. Great projection, quick response and dynamic voice, which make her the perfect instrument, ideal to be used both as a concert guitar and as an accompaniment guitar for singing and dancing.

José A. Fuentes added new ideas and contributions to the craft inspired by Lester Davoe and Gerundino Fernandez. This made him to be one of the best luthiers currently around. His instruments reflect part of his personality, simple, elegant and minimalist always running away from the excesses of decoration, and using for the construction carefully selected woods and a long process of drying and curing. Guitaris Kazu Suwa interviewed José a few years back. Read the interview HERE to learn more about Fuentes background.

She stands out due to her lightness (only 1.32 kg) and beautiful flamenco timbre. Her condition is excellent and all original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever. Listen to a sound sample by played by Alberto Fernández below:
