Build in 1994, this Santa Cruz OM this guitar has aged beautiful in tone and looks. She built with the classic combination of premium grade Sitka Spruce and a beautiful set of straight-grained Indian Rosewood for the back and sides. The top is structured with the vintage-style “advanced” X-bracing. The Mahogany neck has a nice slim C-shape. Combined with low action, she plays like butter. The fingerboard is bound with Ivoroid that has small Abalone dot inlays and black side markers. The guitar is adorned with a Zippers herringbone purfling back strip. A herringbone rosette surrounds the slightly smaller-than-normal 3 3/4-inch soundhole. Construction is predictably first-class, with quality materials everywhere.
This Santa Cruz OM is delightfully versatile. SCGC OM players range from blazing flat picker James Nash to John Mayer and Elvis Costello. The Santa Cruz OM provides clean, loud mid-range and trebles that are complimented by a full bass. Deeply appreciated for fingerstyle and contemporary flat picking work, the OM is their number one request. Her condition is in excellent. Minor play wear, a couple of minor dings, frets in great shape and perfectly setup with low action by our luthier.
