This Martin OM-18 North Street Edition was build by the Custom Shop team and draws inspiration from the revered pre-war “Golden Era” instruments that were crafted at the old C.F. Martin factory in North Street, downtown Nazareth during the 1930s.
Martin North Street Edition acoustic guitars are a serious “nod” to the instruments built during that period, not only visually, but more importantly tonally — thanks to the essential classic features of Adirondack Red Spruce tops and Golden Era X-bracing, re-creating as closely as possible the much-prized tone of the originals. With a darker, denser tone, Sinker Mahogany is the closest tonewood available today to the old growth Mahogany used to build those ‘Golden Era’ Style-18 models in the 1930s. By adding the easy playing modified low oval neck, this guitar is a perfect distillation of a Golden Era Style-18, with the playability of a modern instrument.
With the help of their prestigious Custom Shop team, Martin combined these all-important specifications with modern-day appointments like an adjustable truss rod and low-profile neck. Plus they added case candy: Handcrafted in Scotland, a high-quality, tooled and embossed leather documents folder contains ownership documents; adding value to these instruments and enhancing the Custom Shop experience. The serial number is presented on luxurious, heavyweight letterpress card embossed with gold leaf, while the full Custom Shop spec is provided on branded craft paper. This guitar is in MINT condition.
