This is a 2007 Martin OM-18 Golden Era acoustic guitar in almost new, all original condition including the original Martin Geib style case. This prestigious guitar replicates select pre-war models built during Martin’s first 1930’s “Golden Era” of legendary quality and originality. Fitted with K&K Mini Pure.
Many players call the Martin OM-18 Golden Era the ultimate finger style guitar. The Martin OM-18GE (1930) was introduced in 2003 as part of the Golden Era Series. The OM-18GE (1930) replicates the pre-war OM-18 model built during Martin’s first 1930s “Golden Era” of legendary quality and originality. Features include genuine Mahogany backs and sides and CITES certified Brazilian rosewood headplates, finnished in the original lacquer, Adirondack spruce tops, 1930s style forward-shifted X-bracing, ivoroid bindings, cloth side strips, 1930s style logo and V—neck profile. All OM-18GEs had their interior label signed by CF Martin IV. The OM-18GE was discontinued around 2009.
This GE is originally equipped with the unique pegs used on pre-war Gibson Florentine, Bella Voce and Granada banjos, and Martin OM guitars in the ’20s and ’30s. Waverly’s distinctive machined brass “2-Band” offset gear case and grained ivoroid knob will bring a handsome vintage touch to this pre-war based instrument. Only smoother than the originals, thanks to 4:1 planetary gears, sealed lubrication, low-friction bushings, internal tension spring, leather knob washer and adjustable knob tension.
