The Martin 000-28 Modern Deluxe is a joy to play. While this 000-28 MD has woods and features comparable to the Standard Series 000-28 and the 000-28 Eric Clapton models, she also has the feel and tone of a vintage Martin 000-28 beyond either of those worthy Martin guitars, for a price greatly below the cost of an Authentic Series guitar. When it comes down to it, there really is no comparison. The short scale and contemporary neck profile make the 000-28 MD easy to play, and overall, she shines as an all-around flattop, a capable studio guitar, or just a great guitar to play on the couch.
Compared to the fine Martin Standard Series, the Modern Deluxe Series features a torrefied Sitka Spruce top with scalloped, 1/4″ torrefied Adirondack Spruce bracing attached with natural protein glue, carbon fiber/torrefied Adirondack spruce bridge plate; short-scale neck with Vintage Deluxe profile, two-way adjustable titanium support rod, fretboard with High Performance Taper, Diamonds and Squares long pattern fretboard inlay, abalone position markers, EVO Gold frets, Liquidmetal® bridge pins, European flamed Maple binding and an Abalone script logo in the headstock.
