The AAAAA Italian Alpine Spruce comes from very slow growing old trees and produces a very warm and clear sound. Combined with African Blackwood one get a wonderful articulation and crystal clear defined notes with massive sustain and those fabulous overtones that only Italian Alpine Spruce produces. The O-size body was developed by George in the mid-seventies. With a larger lower bout and a traditional size upper bout the bass response is impressive while the mid and high notes are still loud and clear delivering a very balanced guitar with excellent note separation. This is an impressive Lowden amongst the Lowden guitars out there.
