This provided the opportunity for Lowden customers to play an important role in choosing the unique family of hand built Lowden instruments built in celebration of the anniversary year. Lowden Guitars is a company of luthiers founded and led by George Lowden. George Lowden has personally chosen all woods and bracing sets, voiced and hand-carved the dolphin profile and closed the soundbox on these limited guitars. George also personally inspected the final set up. Each of these 40th Anniversary guitars bears a specially designed label and 40th inlay. Accompanying each 40th Anniversary guitar is a hand made, serial number- specific, souvenir photographic record book of the guitar being built. Finally every 40th Anniversary guitar also has a special edition Lowden Provenance document which bears the signatures of all of the craftsmen involved in building the guitar.
