This pre-owned Santa Cruz OM has a unique flavor that somehow oozes a “vintage” vibe. She features a complex tone with a warm and powerful low end. Richard Hoover and this team outdid themselves on this one and a number of players used her well but gentle.
This 2010 Santa Cruz OM is build with the classic combination of master grade Sitka Spruce and a beautiful set of straight-grained Indian Rosewood for the back and sides. The top is structured with the vintage-style “advanced” X-bracing. The Mahogany neck has a slight V shape and feel smooth in the hand. It’s capped with an ivoroid bound fingerboard that has small Abalone dot inlays and black side markers. The top is adorned with a herringbone purfling and zipper-style back strip. A herringbone rosette surrounds the slightly smaller-than-normal 3 3/4-inch soundhole. Construction is predictably first-class, with quality materials everywhere.
This Santa Cruz OM is delightfully versatile. SCGC OM players range from blazing flat picker James Nash to John Mayer and Elvis Costello. The Santa Cruz OM provides clean, loud mid-range and trebles that are complimented by a slightly predominant bass. Deeply appreciated for fingerstyle and contemporary flat picking work, the OM is their number one request. Her condition is in excellent.
