The hand-wound Amber “90-style” pickups deliver exactly the straightforward rock sound with which the last decades’ great guitarists have delighted us. The 90 standard produces the typical bold, slightly dirty, and extremely dynamic P-90 tone. The unique sound is not only achieved by the hand-wound coil, but also the historically correct materials contribute to the sound result: The legendary # 42 plain enamel winding wire and two AlNiCo magnets per pickup are used, which are based on the AMBER tecal Method and are magnetized. The DC resistance is approximately 8.8 kΩ.
The Maybach and sounds pretty raunchy when we crank the guitar’s volume control back up and unleash hell. Everything you’d want from a guitar like this is present and correct. She is a lightweight with only 2.95 kilograms/ 6.5 lbs. Maybach use Nitro varnish which adds to the open tone. This is a guitar with a lot of different sounds!
