This beautiful Martin 000 Custom combines Genuine South American Mahogany for the back, sides and the neck with a premium Adirondack Red Spruce top into a truly classic recipe for an inspiring instrument. Genuine (South American) Mahogany is my favorite tonewood. Sounds terrific, looks beautiful and smells great. Its rich honey brown finish is quite striking under the Nitro sunburst finish in pre-war style. She has a very nice tap tone combined with a full lush depth. This beautiful tonewood has been the choice of bluegrass pickers for decades, and adds power to any guitar design. This top has strong fundamentals and responds well to either a light or firm touch. The total lightness (1.73kg / 3lb,13oz) contributes to the total tone an feel. She has a higher resonance and exhibits a more complex overtone content.
This particular guitar is very well balanced and brings out all the nuances of your play. Strong and tight basses, warm mids en crystal clear high combined with lots of complex overtones. And in a superb 1935 Sunburst shade this is a classic beauty!
