This Lowden S50 is build with stunning Mastergrade Macassar Striped Ebony. She is not only a visually remarkable guitar, but also unique from a tonal point of view. Macassar Ebony is a dense hardwood known to be clear and loud. With it liking to be played with more energy, George chose a mastergrade Adirondack Spruce top to create a balanced sound. Tonally, this combination offers a strong bass and lower mids. Clear, responsive highs and a slightly scooped midrange.
Striped Ebony on this Lowden S50 is the rarest and sought after of the Macassar Ebony varieties, with a white to tan background and high-contrast black striping. George wouldn’t be George if he hadn’t gotten his hands on some of the rarest sets. He also added a soundbox bevel and a sweet style-38 Abalone soundboard inlay. This guitar is in dead MINT condition and comes with full Lowden Warranty.
