Awesome Gibson J-35 build by the Ren Ferguson and his team to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Gibson Acoustic workshop in Bozeman, Montana. For this historic 1930s series, The ultimate singer/songwriter guitar.
This Gibson J-35 20th Anniversary is part of an extremely limited run of 20 instruments which celebrate the 20th anniversary of Gibson’s acoustic guitar production in Bozeman, Montana. Gibson Master Luthier Ren Ferguson set out to build the most authentic limited-edition reissues from Gibson’s early classic period. The Certificate is also signed by Mr. Ferguson. She has a that rare tight grained Adirondack Spruce top which gives the guitar a strong, clear and deep tone. The back, sides and neck are made of Honduras Mahogany. This tonewood combination gives the guitar a mellow sound, which is perfectly suited for every singer-songwriter, leaving ample space for the voice. The fretboard and bridge are Madagascar Rosewood. The headstock features a vintage script Gibson logo made from mother-of-pearl and custom-built vintage Waverly tuning machines.
The backplate has an Anniversary banner inlay also made from Mother-of-Pearl. She has the look and feeling of an everlasting six-string handed down through the generations. For the historic 1930s series, Gibson Master Luthier Ren Ferguson set out to build the most authentic limited-edition reissues from Gibson’s early classic period. The top braces are precision cut to match the originals, hand fit to the top by Ferguson using historic bracing patterns and techniques and then set with hide glue in his personal workshop. Inside the guitar collectors will find inscribed and dated ‘For Gibson by Ren Ferguson’. After the top left Ferguson’s workshop, it is constructed with back and sides that were built by the master craftsmen in Bozeman. She has a customary bone nut and saddle and is finished in an antique sunburst nitro lacquer. Also, for the first time since Gibson Acoustics have been made in Montana, she comes with a period-correct silk-screened peghead logo.
She’s exceptionally responsive due to their lightweight (1.9KG) and traditional construction. Excellent tonewood, slim, tall braces and the traditional finish provides the perfect foundation for an instrument’s personality to mature and blossom. She is in excellent condition including the Anniversary certificate, Gibson Warranty booklet and original Gibson Acoustic branded hardshell case. This is a great guitar for strummers and fingerpickers.
