Sublime pre-owned Collings D1A. Fundamental, crystal clear, and very loud, This guitar refuses to go unnoticed, hence this is the best-selling Collings to date.

This Collings D1A 14-fret dreadnought is the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. Light and resonant! While Collings is certainly not the only company to build them, we bring a new tonal clarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large, deep-bodied guitar. Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles.

The neck is 1-11/16″ at the nut and has a medium profile neck and offers smooth and fast playability even to those who prefer the 1 3/4″ nut width. Her tone impresses with lightning attack. The sound jumps out of the box, accompanied by abundant overtones to color the sound. A great lead and country picker just for that alone. She’s less complex and warm than e.g. a Hog Martin, but in return she offers more clarity and note to note purity and definition and has a pleasing mid to upper-mid chime and a sweet spot in the mid-range. The bass notes are focused but defined and balanced. Also, she will record very well and cut through in a mix. This guitar is fitted with an LR Baggs Element pickup-system which derives output from the movement of the soundboard and rejects string attack to minimize quack. Her condition is excellent.
