This Bourgeois OM Country Boy has the characteristic superb balance, clarity of voice, and sustaining top register and thus making this the quintessential fingerstyle guitar but also for a variety of other applications. An OM has the same body size as a a 000, but normally has a 25.4 inch scale length, as opposed to the 000’s 24.9 inch scale. The optional Adirondack X-brace is scalloped on both sides which provides the” looseness” required in a smaller guitar to produce a clear, strong bass response, and power and projection that belies its size. Dana Bourgeois knows how to tune guitars!
Dana Bourgeois has been designing and building acoustic guitars for over thirty years. He has often lectured on the subject, and has written several influential articles on various aspects of the guitar building art, most notably about tonewoods, and about the voicing and bracing of acoustic guitars.
