This Boucher Studio Goose SG-51 MV, a guitar that embodies the finest traditions of Canadian luthiery. Built entirely from hand-selected Master Grade Torrefied Adirondack Spruce and Master Grade Indian Rosewood, the SG-51 MV sits at the very top of Boucher’s renowned Studio Goose Series.
This wonderful Boucher Studio Goose SG-51 MV reflects master luthier Robin Boucher’s obsession with tone, precision, and responsiveness. Robin and his team live amongst the Adirondack Spruce forests of the Province of Quebec and source their own trees. Wathch this vid to see the whole proces from milling the tree to final assembly. Just awesome! And the Goose name is derrived from the snow geese that annually migrate to the Appalachian Mountains. She is outfitted with Boucher’s torrefied top treatment as part of the Master Voice option.
This option includes the torrefied master grade (AAAAA) Adirondack Red Spruce top, Koa binding and an Abalone rosette. The Mastergrade Adirondack is of the best of the best quality that can be found and very rare. Not only are these top light and stiff but also extremely resonant. Robin Boucher was the first Luthier to use the torrefaction process for Adirondack spruce soundboards, developing a unique roasting process with the University Laval of Quebec to accelerate wood aging. This industry-first innovation, launched in 2011, creates wood with enhanced stability, lighter weight, and improved tonal properties, giving it the sonic maturity of a naturally aged guitar
