Combining Guatelmalan Rosewood for the back and sides with Italian Alpine Spruce and a genuine Mahogany neck is a truly classic recipy for an inspiring instrument. This particular guitar is very well balanced and brings out all the nuances of you play. Originaly Martin called these models with the 645mm scale OM models. The body size is the same as a 000-model. Nice thight basses, warm mids en crystal claer high combined with lots of complex overtones. Or as Laurence Juber would say when comparing guitars with wines: the best Merlot one can get!
Guatemalan Rosewood (Dalbergia Tucarensis) has become a favorite tonewood for builders and players. This tonewood sounds terrific, looks beautiful and smells heavenly. Her rich honey brown color is quite striking under the high gloss finish. This wood has a very nice tap tone combined with a full lush Rosewood depth. Italian Alpine Spruce is of the same species as German Spruce (picea excelsa). Since it grow much higher up in the mountain (1300mtr) it grows slower. Alpine Spruce has a slightly flatter coloration (more of a basic white) and a more focused tone with sweet, singing quality. Outstanding guitar in every way!
