This Martin 000-18 is a true classic! A workhorse 000. One of the classics. This one belongs in the “one guitar to rule them all” category, in terms of an acoustic that can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Jack of All Trades, master of some!
For flatpicked lead lines and fingerpicking the 000-18 works amazingly well, and it’s no slouch in the strumming department either. Her body shape makes this fine acoustic guitar very comfortable and tonally balanced. The proven wood combination of Sitka Spruce for the top and Genuine Mahogany for the back and sides ensures a warm, differentiated sound. She plays comfortably thanks to the modified low oval neck profile. For a subtle vintage look, the top is finished with a slightly golden yellow aging toner. Open tuners and the Script Old Style logo on the headstock also support the look. When played with delicacy, arpeggios notes roll out defined and delicate. Because of the shorter scale length, the string tension is a tad lower, making string bending a bit easier. That is why 000-models are favored by blues players like Elisabeth Cotten, Lonnie Johnson and also Eric Clapton.
This Martin 000-18 Re-Imagined comes with scalloped bracing and Martin’s High Performance neck taking this classic short-scale 000 into the 21st century, while appearing as a pre-War aesthetic. Martin introduced the Re-imagined Standard Series in 2018. This series is collectively the most significant update to the flagship line of guitars in Martin’s 185-year history. Reimagined, refined, remarkable. Experience this finely-tuned instrument that will shape your sound to an even higher standard of tone, look, and playability. Mindful evolution has kept Martin at the top of the class for over 185 years, remaining the standard by which all others are measured. Join the family and take that into your hands.
