The Lowden S34 Hawaiian Koa – Sitka Spruce is a new (old) shoot on the tree of the Lowden Original Series. The more exotic combination of shimmering Koa back and sides with Sitka Spruce was available in the nineties as part of the premier series. Due to the rise in demand for the Koa/Spruce combination in the 35 and 50 series George decided to make this excellent tonewood available in the Original series. The combination offers a crescendo of Celtic tonal flavor with a subtle undertone of lively Koa fundamental tone that is highly addictive.
This Lowden S34 has the comfortable 45 mm neck and the comfortable low action neck with a nice 57 mm string separation at the bridge. She is a fingerpickers dream with decent bass tones, sweet mids and sparkling high notes. Excellent for home, studio, and stage work. K&K, LR Baggs Anthem and many other systems can also be fitted.
