Another fine Cuban Mahogany Lowden O35x build with a Red Cedar top. And on top of that the optional Curved Fingerboard. Lovely!
Those who treasure Mahogany as a back and side wood (I do!) find more of what they are looking for in Cuban Mahogany. Unlike Khaya and Sapele, Cuban Mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni) is a close cousin to the Honduran Mahogany which is a staple in guitar making. Slightly more dense and less porous, this beautiful tonewood delivers fuller mids and more pronounced low-end tones compared to the regular Mahogany species.
The Lowden 35 Series is for the serious player who can appreciate a whole new world of subtle tone colors and dynamic range. This is the 35 version of the 32 and 25 models having the same warmth and focused projection. But because of the extra definition of the AAAA grade soundboard wood, there is extra clarity and class in the tone. The O is deep, very resonant and has lots of overtones.
