Eye catching  Loef Birgi combining Mahogany and Italian Alpine Spruce in a wonderful oo-size guitar. Carefully crafted by master luthier Olav Loef in Finland

This Loef Birgi is carefully crafted with African Mahogany and Italian Alpine spruce. Olav’s practice of naming the guitars helps to make it your own. Olav Loef has been making guitars since 1978, but officially established Loef Guitars in 2000 in Finland. His creation show craftsmanship dedicated to tone and liveliness of the guitars. Impeccable build quality.

Alpine Spruce is a tonewood with probably the longest tradition in music instrument making, having been used in making guitars, violins, and pianos for centuries. Italian Alpine Spruce is becoming an exclusive material because it is more and more difficult to find premium grade wood. Wonderful tones come forward when touched either gently or by digging in with some bluesy notes. African Mahogany has a warm “woody” tone that accentuates the mid-range frequencies. Like all Mahogany, it’s unique internal dampening qualities create tonal balance and a crisp strong fundamental. African Mahogany is slightly stiffer and harder than Central American varieties, which expands its frequency response, and increases the production of overtones. Olav crafted a very comfortable neck and body size. Sweet high notes with fundamental bass. Great tonewood selection and very well tuned with lots of sustain. Near mint condition.
