This Gibson SJ-200 is celebrated for her impressive size, rich tonal character, powerful projection, and unmistakable stage presence. This recreation combines period-correct details, premium Tonewood’s combined with Tom Murphy’s magic aging skills to capture the look and feel of a well-preserved vintage instrument. Constructed with Hide Glue, the premium Indian Rosewood back & sides are paired with a thermally aged Adirondack Red Spruce top and traditional scalloped X-bracing, also crafted from Adirondack. This construction deliverers the unmistakable and distinctive King-character. All the ornate style elements of the original complete this beauty including a comfortable D-shaped profile and a traditional stinger on the back of the headstock and at 2.46kg light in weight for a big guitar like this.
The finishing touch comes from the Murphy Lab Light Aging treatment giving the guitar the appearance and character of a guitar that has been played and cherished over decades, without losing the appeal of a carefully crafted new instrument. Completing the package is a period-correct, pre-war-style Red Line hardshell case.
