This 2015 Gerundino Hijo Blanca was build by luthier Gerundino Fernández Llamas, son of the great maker Gerundino Fernández. Born in 1974 in Almería, he started helping his father with guitar making since he was really young. He helped with tasks such as sanding woods, put pawns, glue bottoms and tops. He also knows his woods as he was educated by his uncle Eladio Fernández in spotting, cutting and selecting the best woods for his father’s guitars. As a luthier he continues the family tradition, using the techniques, tools and woods inherited from his father.
The woods used in this guitar are of an extraordinary quality. The top is mastergrade German Spruce and the back and sides are made of beautiful Cypress. A classic recipe in the best flamenco tradition. Gerundino Hijo succeeded in making a voluminous and dynamic flamenco guitar. This guitar stands out due to its extreme lightness (only 1.2 kg – 2.69lb) and its flamenco timbre. She is the perfect guitar to accompany the singing and dancing.
