This mint Atkin J45 is based on the classic Gibson models of the 1940s. J-45 are known for their big open sound and warm, woody mid-range. Alistair Atkin learned what makes a J-45 spin because of the many the repair of vintage Gibson guitars.
The J45 model is popular among singer-songwriters, rock and country players. Folk and flatpicking guitarists favour her grand tone. This J45 Blonde version is build with African Ovankol which is q relative of Rosewood. This tonewood is really a great sounding and shares many of Rosewood’s tonal properties but with a slightly fuller midrange and a very nice brightness. With the aged Sitka Spruce top she produces a rich and warm sound with very good bass tone and nice mid and highs. The neck is relatively thin and very easy to play. Excellent strummer guitar but also fingerstyle players with smaller hands will love the playability. The Blonde top colour is an extremely rare original Gibson colour and was offered as an option back in the Thirties!
