Bold 1997 Martin D-18VMS Vintage series. This is the famous 12-fret dreadnought slot-head guitar and is identical to the later model named D-18VS. This guitar sounds amazing! She that big, lush, warm tone with sparkling highs. Big projection and punch from the 12-fret dreadnought body.
This Martin D-18VMS is a beautiful playing and sounding guitar. She differs from a standard D18 due to her massive low end, bass of thunder. But amazingly she is also a great fingerstyle instrument. Strumming is great but takes some extra skilled control to keep the low end balanced. It’s a beautiful playing and sounding guitar.
She has that big, deep, clear 12-fret dread sound! BIG clean base and clear ringing highs. A fantastic responsive and lively flat- and finger picker. All set-up and ready to go with no issues. The D-12 fret models were discontinued in 2011. Currently, you can order one as a custom shop model with a price tag easily surpassing 5K. Her condition is excellent. Technically she is perfect, great fretwork and low action. Visually she has the usual dings and some scratches that should be expected from a 25-year-old guitar that was played. Nothing serious though, only superficial adding to the vintage vibe. Listen to a sound sample here:
