• Patrick James Eggle Etowah Brazilian – Adirondack (2004)

    Our price:6.450,00

This Patrick James Eggle Etowah in Brazilian Rosewood – Adirondack configuration is a truly spectacular guitar. Elegantly understated classic triple-0 shape is the basis of this Eggle Etowah model because of the highest grade woods used and the impecable craftsmanship.

This Patrick James Eggle Etowah beauty is all about tone. The low, mid and high notes are very well balanced. Clean tones, very dynamic and ringing overtones in every registers. This thing just sings. I won’t bore you with superlatives, but suffice to say this guitar has ‘that’ sound when you hear people talk about ‘that’ sound from war-time Martin guitars. Top of the line!

This Etowah is one of Patrick’s early ‘flat top’ guitars made while he was still in the USA.The Etowah is build with beautiful quartersawn Brazilian Rosewood dating back to the 19th century and was originally used for a classic English book cabinet. Patrick bought this piece of furniture back in 2000 and build six guitars out of the remains of the cabinet. Jan Akkerman owns one and this is the second one that I know of. Who knows where the other sisters are?

The Etowah’s top is from and Adirondack Red SPruce tree. Adirondack is named after its ruddy coloring and grows in the Adirondack Mountains and in the cool forests of the Northeastern part of the United States. It is called ‘the king of Spruce’. Prior to World War II, it was the soundboard tonewood of choice for Martin and other makers. Over-harvesting of this wood led to its being all but phased out for use in guitars in the years after the war. For the most part, Adirondack Red Spruce can be found on select high-end instruments. It’s a relatively heavy and stiff wood, having strong fundamentals and great overtones. Also known to be the loudest and liveliest of Spruces as well.

Now fifteen years old, this mature guitar is in fine condition having been lovingly cared-for or in other words: in high excellent condition. Original CITES Certificate included.
