• Larrivee Pete Anderson Signature OM Maple-Sitka

    Category: Product Condition: Pre-Owned

    Our price:

This 1999 Larrivee Pete Anderson OM-style flat-top is designed to look like a cheap Depression-era Harmony, yet sound and play like a top-line Larrivee built in the old Larrivee workshop in Vancouver, Canada.

The Larrivee Pete Anderson OM is modeled after Pete’s ’30s Harmony archtop. Instead of binding, she has a painted white pinstripe, fake tiger-stripe wood grain, and a two-color sunburst. I told them I wanted a flat-top that looked like that, and they nailed it.”

This Larrivee Pete Anderson OM has a 12-fret neck and solid-wood construction: a sitka-spruce top, Canadian flame-maple back and sides, a one-piece Honduras mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and bridge; large, ’50s-style pearl fretboard markers; and a matte, tobacco sunburst finish. Other features include a 650mm 25 1/2″ scale and Anderson’s preferred tall, narrow frets. The guitar comes equipped with the Baggs Ribbon Transducer System — an active saddle pickup and preamp combo. At Anderson’s request, Larrivee substituted a white decal logo for their normal pearl inlay.

This guitar is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Understated. A closer inspection reveals the meticulous workmanship, select AAAA graded woods, and special scaloped X bracing pattern that are hallmarks of more traditional Larrivee guitars. Very unusual, and very cool! This guitar is highly responsive with a surprising amount of low end.  The Sitka Spruce top with satin finish makes the guitar sound beautiful even when played with a lighter touch or bare fingers.  With a Maple back and sides and a great overall balanced tone, this guitar will record like a dream with a classic clear Maple sound!

She comes standard with a Baggs ribbon transducer pickup system. Her condition is near mint. The original hardshell case is also included.
