When we had the idea of opening up a dedicated guitar shop I wanted to mark this moment in a special way. They idea of having a special guitar build for the occassion was born. Since I already owned a Santa Cruz Brazilian D the idea of having my own named D was tempting. So inspired bij C.F. Martin I asked on of the worlds best luthiers Roman Zajicek build a D to my specs. We then named her Diamond-28. Visitor to the shop that played her soon nicknamed her the ´Brazilian Babe´ because of the extensive use of this prized wood. Not only was CITES certified Brazilian Rosewood used for the back and sides. The bridge, the headstock overlay on both sides and the fretboard were made of this expensive wood.
The Diamond/28 is all about world class craftsmanship, artistic power, master grade woods, great tone, smooth playability and a beautiful body. During the proces Roman called and pitched the idea of adding a genuine diamond the the headstock. Brilliant idea and so we completed this special edition by crowning her with a genuine certified diamond on the headstock!
Roman also had old stock Alpine Spruce that he had bought from the local violin builders. So not only the back and sides are special. So is the top made of 85 years old Alpine Spruce! This is arguably the holy grail of acoustic tone!!
