Gibson Guitar Company was founded by Orville Gibson in 1902 as the  in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to make stringed instruments.

Gibson is best know for building the most iconic electric guitar of all: the Les Paul. Designed by Ted McCarty and the one and only mr. Les Paul the ‘Les Paul Model’ was introduced in 1952 and became Gibson’s most popular guitar to date. Many other Gibson Electrics are highly collectible too like the 1958 Korina Explorer, the ES-335 and archtop models like the L-5, the Super 400 and the ES-175.
