Our price:

This Ramirez flamenco guitar was built by the world famous luthier José Ramirez III in 1962, one of the most prolific periods of the Ramirez history. Ramirez attracted guitarists from all over the world to come to Madrid and visit this famous workshop to have a guitar build, both classical and flamenco.

Ramirez has famous customers like Paco de Lucia, Manolo Sanlucar, Narciso Yepes and Serranito among many others. He was the luthier of choice for the master of all masters: Andres Segovia! This flamenco guitar is built with superior quality woods,  impossible to obtain nowadays. The top wood is German Spruce and has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of Spanish Cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent.

The sound emerging from this guitar possesses some special features and nuances, where the flamenco touch from this signature can be definitely found. The basses are very strong, with a very particular percussive sound. The trebles is just crystalline and well-defined and with an amazing scope, all of which makes quite a balanced set of features. The height of strings in saddle and fingerboard is perfectly balanced, providing the player with a high degree of comfort for both hands. The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completly original, only has a small crack in the upper bout of the Cypres back. We had this spot stabilized and the lacquer repaired by Jeroen Hilhorst.
