Lowden F35 Tasmanian Blackwood - Redwood (SOLD)

The Red Taz is back! Figured Tasmanian Blackwood combined with very nicely striped Redwood is an excellent combination for fingerstyle and recording. Compared to Cedar a Redwood top adds more warmth and response. This means that strumming is also part of her capabilities. An excellent all-rounder! Tasmanian Blackwood is an Acacia species that can be compared to Hawaiian Koa, also an Acacia species. Its tonal spectrum is similar to both Koa and Mahogany, featuring a strong and dry midrange focus. Clear and warm, with a very nice top-end shimmer and richness comparable to Indian Rosewood. Focus and projection are strong. Tasmanian Blackwood also is sourced from forests that are responsibly managed, making it a sustainable wood for guitar making. The same applies to this Redwood that grown near the Californian shoreline and is know to most people as the tallest tree on the planet. Redwood delivers a warm, rich and complex sound. It exhibits a slightly darker tone with less pronounced bass and more headroom than Cedar.
